Dr. Marion Lyver is a specialist certified physician in emergency medicine and an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Family Medicine, McMaster University, as well as a part-time lecturer in the Master’s in eHealth program. Her clinical experience encompasses pediatric and adult hospital emergency care across rural, urban and academic teaching hospital sites as well as part-time stints in a busy primary care practice over a 20 year time span.
Marion is a well-known and well-respected independent health/eHealth consultant, providing services in her areas of expertise to both public and private sector organizations nationally and internationally.
Ehealth and the adoption and use of information technology and electronic health records (EHRs) has been her particular focus over the past 10 years. She became a Certified Professional in Healthcare & Information and Management Systems (US & Canada) in 2009 and maintains current certification.
Internationally and nationally, Marion has served as a two-term Convener (Chair) of ISO Technical Committee 215 – Health Informatics – Working Group 8 (EHR Requirements), two terms as an elected representative on the IHTSDO Implementation & Innovation Committee, two terms as an elected Board member of COACH – Canada’s Health Informatics Association and multi-year terms on Canada Health Infoway’s Standards Collaborative Strategic Committee and SC Coordinating Committee.
