Each year, different initiatives and events celebrate the positive impact of digital health in the lives of Canadians during Digital Health Week (this year, from November 11 to 17, 2019). Each year AMIA (the American Medical Informatics Association) holds its Annual Symposium.  The organisation is a community of professionals who are committed to a world where informatics transforms people’s care. Thus, AMIA’s yearly event brings together informatics professionals from diverse backgrounds who are striving towards this goal.  Whether they be a leading expert in the field or a student learning about the field, the event provides an opportunity to learn, network, and engage with new people, technologies and ideas.

The theme of this year’s HIMSS Australia Digital Health Summit 2019 is Interoperability and Connected Care which is approached through three key area: Data, Innovation and Empowering the Patient.

RSNA 2019

The 105th Scientific Assembly & Annual Meeting of the Radiology Society of North America will take place as usual at McCormick Place in Chicago. This gathering is the world’s premier radiology forum and draws approximately 55,000 attendees annually. It offers participants hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology, including artificial intelligence (AI), 3D printing and virtual reality while diving into the latest research, and offering over 400 educational courses.

In addition, this year the RSNA is curating the Egypt Presents and India Presents programs intended to highlight the work being done in these countries. Attendees can attend sessions led by their leaders in radiology, learn about the Egyptian Society of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine (ESRNM) and the Indian Radiological and Imaging Association (IRIA), and explore innovations from Egyptian and Indian companies in the Technical Exhibit Halls.

MIE 2020

The European Federation of Medical Informatics (EFMI) is holding its 30th Medical Informatics Europe conference (MIE) at the Geneva International Conference Center (CICG). Organized in partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO), the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the State of Geneva (Geneva), the University of Geneva (UNIGE) and the University Hospitals of Geneva (HUG), the conference returns to Geneva after 15 years. Since its first time in that city, it has seen a huge change in the role of technology in healthcare. Although the conversation will have changed, the aim of MIE2020 is no different from the aim of MIE 2005 – to bring experts from all over the world to discuss these past changes and possible future ones.

The MIE conference attracts senior researchers and established experts, but it is also a place where young scientists come to present their works, meet peers, network, and seek job and career opportunities.
